Like market day everywhere, market day in Ghana is a bustle of activity. We are used to going to one large store to buy everything, here in Ghana it is quite different. Market day only happens a couple of times a week and is signaled by the early set up of stalls used to display produce, meat, spices, and food stuff. Additionally, there are small shops where one can purchase buckets, bicycle parts, batteries and soap.
People come to sell and buy, but it is almost as important to socialize. Leaving with food, provisions, and the latest gossip a Ghanaian considers it a successful trip.
